QUAD BIKING

Available for hire in the village, quad bikes are a fantastic way to explore the area around Ponta do Ouro. Travel north towards Ponta Malongane and beyond, or jump aboard to deal with the worst of the climb up to the lighthouse and its stunning views.

Quad bikes can be rented on an hourly, half-day or daily rate, and also available are full-day guided quad ventures which include snorkeling, bird watching, breakfast, lunch, sundowner cocktail and snacks, and sundowner quad bike trips which include drinks and snacks.

Remember that quad bikes are both noisy and dangerous, and we urge you to respect others and keep a good lookout for pedestrians, animals and other vehicles. The soft, sandy dune roads can be more challenging than you might think, so keep your wits about you!

Within Ponta itself, children under 16 are not allowed to ride quad bikes (although there is a designated area for underage riders outside the village), a maximum speed limit of 20km/h is in place, and noisy and unruly quad bike riders face a hefty fine.
