SWIMMING & SNORKELING
The warm Mozambique Current waters and pristine beaches of Ponta do Ouro make an idyllic setting for lazy days of sea, sand and sun. Swimmers of all ages will love the calm seas and the water temperatures that can reach 21°C in winter and as much as 28°C in summer!
Snorkelers of all ages can explore the reefs and rock pools at the Point, and low tide is the best time to be able to see the teeming array of fish life that populates this area of the bay.
Swimming is possible all the way up the beach from the Point towards Ponta Malongane – but take care to avoid the demarcated boat launch areas as you might incur the wrath of a skipper attempting to land his vessel if you’re in his way!
Locals will stroll by selling nuts, and there are snacks, cool-drinks and cold beers available at the Beach Bar.
